  • More fashun advice please

So, I bought the Julien MacDonald dress yesterday

    http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_72339_993768_-1

Plan is to get it taken up a bit as it's not a great length. I like it because it's casual enough to wear over the summer to work or out in the evenings - it's not too "weddingy". However, I did buy it to wear for a friend's wedding - I am best woman and her colour theme is green (although I think she had sage rather than lime in mind, oh dear Laugh).

It's not a v formal wedding but it's catholic so nuptial mass, followed by a relaxed reception at an outdoor venue, finishing at about 2pm.

I am thinking of accessorizing the dress with black - a pair of quite blingy but not overly smart wedges and some black jewellery. I have a black bag and cardigan I can wear to cover up/if it's cold Good idea or npot? Any other suggestions?

that dress is stunning,  i was surprised by the price as i thought it would have been much more than that!

i'd wear navy with it though rather than black.  get shoe shopping,  head to dune for some stunning wedges.

i'm never too fat for new shoes!

Gorgeous frock Soph - I look as if I've died if I wear that colour with my skin tone, so I'm jealous! lol

I think black is good, keep it simple. I think some vertiginous platform heels would look fab with a chunky bracelet, and a clutch bag, nothing more.

    Ha! Begone you daft tickers!

Ooooh, controversial ROTFL I hhhhaaaate navy, but I agree that's a nice suggestion, although the dress is very definitely lime (not soft lime either, haha), not lemon like it looks in the pic. I was in Dune yesterday actually, and didn't fall in love with anything.

    Thanks

i might even say these (i'm biased as i own then in 5 diff colours and they're fab!)

I quite like the shoes it is pictured with on the model.  Or black.  Lovely dress though.

Thanks Wonks and Feathers. I do need wedges not heels, as the reception will be mostly standing outside on the grass. Forgot to mention that I also need peeptoes or closed toes, as I will have lost a toenail by then Weep

I like that. Perfect for the event by the sound of it. High heels and little cardi would be nice too.

Can you wear it to work with no sleeves?

Did you see my post earlier about my latest MDAL purchase? Laugh

Not wedges, but these are purdy (I am currently lusting after the blue pair and trying to find a dress that I can buy to wear with them)

I'm finding it hard to come up with wedges as well - I keep finding espadrilles Laugh

    Oooh, thanks everyone.

Doughnut - I did see your post ROTFL I can wear anything I like to work, lucky me.

Not loving any of the black shoes so far - they tend to look a bit frumpy/worky. Hmmm...

I did see a nice pair in New Look yesterday that had black gemstone things on the wedges, but they're not online.
