  • Buffet Menu help please

H's family is decending on us Good Friday - 8 adults plus 8 kids, plus the two of us.  Am going to do a hot/cold buffet style but I'm stuck already.

Have got a large lasagne ready in the freezer, am going to do the sausage and lentil casserole (if someone can give me the recipe) and that's it so far.

Breakfast is sorted Saturday morning as they are bringing oatcakes from Stoke.

    Any suggestions?

    TIA

It's good friday, you've got to have fish.  Salmon and pasta?

  • Re: Buffet Menu help please

oh yes, will look into that one .. also have a vegetarian that doesn't eat fish... lentil bake then!

i do love a retro poached salmon and mayonnaise for buffets

not sure it goes with lasagne though

I'm liking that idea janeyh and have found this recipe http://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/september-2007-poached-salmon-with-herbed-mayonnaise

got to cater for a wide range of tastes - so i can put them at either end of the table!

non fish eating veggies tend to end up with spanakopita (sp)  at my house for a buffet - marinated mushrooms are lovely too - cooked in lots of olive oil, bit of white wine and fresh herbs and garlic and left to cool - very juicy with much bread

nigella's veggie involtini is a good one too
