  • What would you think ...? (opinions please)

Would you think these look naff or tight as a wedding favour.(see pic below).

It is a chocolate bar that is bascially a kiwi icon and want to introduce a few New Zealand touches into our wedding (for the newbies that don't know already H2b and I are from the UK, have lived in New Zealand for some time but coming back to the UK to get married in May). I am not too sure because it could look like we are putting out a fruit and nut bar  or something (though these are actual slabs, so short but quite thick and there are different flavours eg. coconut slab, fruit and nut, cashew nut though the peanut one is the traditional one).

Yes I know there is the nut issue but at the end of the day I know you can't please everyone.

So what do you think and if yes how could I present them?

I think it's awesome, they look really vintage. I love the wrappers,

Depending on the actual size of them you could have them in wicker baskets on tables, or get little flowergirls to hand them out.

I think it's a great idea.  Really different!  I love trying new chocolates/sweets from other countries.   Mmmmm - looks yummy as well!

As for presentation - I have no idea...  Maybe a basket of them for each table?

Cashew one sounds really fab.  I'm drooling!

    Must go wipe desk......

They sound delicious! and they look great the way they are.

Some ideas on this site on how to display favours, I like the one about the baskets near the door http://www.beau-coup.com/favors_presentation_ideas.htm

    fab and yum Big Smile

  • Re: What would you think ...? (opinions please)

Certainly wouldn't think you were tight! And they do sound yummy.

I would probably present them with a piece of ribbon tied around with a small tag explaining their origin?!

Thanks everyone, okay it looks like these could be our favours.

Ooh la la - I will see if I can convince our page boy to go round with them.... he can be a bit stubborn so he may not do it (may have to think of a really good bribe and get my BM to supervise him).

Soon2bsummers - yeah I like the idea of having a little tag around them to explain them.

Teehee - I will see if I can fit an extra box in my suitcase. I will already be carrying about 70 bars of chocolate on 3 plane trips across to the other side of the world, me thinks no room for clothes and shoes!! Ah well once I have off loaded the choc I suppose its a good excuse to shop Big Smile

If it's any help, these are available in the UK at around a £1 a bar........might save having to lug them all from NZ...

What really?!? Oh no that spoils my plan, I wanted to have something a bit different, didn't know you could get them in England..... its been a while since I have been in an English shop. So are they quite commonly available in England, no one else seemed to have seen them before. By the £1 each, thats expensive compared to what they cost here.

I'd never heard of them and I'm somewhat of an expert in the confectionary departmentWink

I love the idea.  And have never seen them here either, they are certainly not well known.

Maybe it depends what part of the country you are in. Glad there are a few chocaholics on here that haven't seen them. At the end of the day it is kiwi chocolate anyway.
