  • How long does it take for a veil??

Still haven't got my veil yet. I get married in 9 weeks and haven't found one yet. A close friend of my mum's has very kindly offered to buy it for me but we haven't got round to doing anything about it yet. I guess I just don't want to say to her 'right when are we going to buy my veil!'

All depends on the shop really. Some shops have them in stock already.

Mine took 7 weeks to come in I think and I know that my friends took 16 weeks! Whilst another friends only took 2. Completely depends on the type of veil and the shop

Not much help really . Sorry. Hope you find one.

I agree that it depends on the shop.

I got mine made by a hib but if I hadn't done that I was going to get it from www.onefinedayweddingservices.co.uk because they didn't charge nearly as much as the bridal shops.

I might have a look here, have nosied on their site before. I saw a nice one in Bhs which I thought was perfect cos it was only £30 but when you compare it to other veils you can really see the difference. ( no offence if anyone has a veil from BHS!) The ones that they gave me to try on with my dress were all around £150 which I just think is sooo expensive. If I was buying it myself I'd perhaps pay that and then sell it on afterwards but wouldn't feel comfortable doing that since its being bought as a gift. Hmm, maybe I should just buy it myself and 'forget' about her very kind offer!

I work for Richard Designs - the normal time we give to the shops is 3-4 weeks, although in busier times we work to wedding dates. However, if we have a shop call us with a bride who wants one in a week, we do that too. I would say it depends on the veil manufacturer rather than the shop.

Thanks Zippy, I have another fitting next week, will have another look around the shop for inspiration!

I'm sure when I was getting quotes for my veil, I designed it, they were charging around £70ish which was fab. I paid around £45 for mine in the end but actually the material wasn't as nice as the one One Fine Day had so the extra money would have been worth it for softer material.

Debenhams have veils as well I think but don't know what they are like.

How are you feeling about it being so close now? I'm soooo excited. x

Maybe they don't have any then! Laugh

I'm only getting stressed with the wedding because my h2b has been away heaps and I can't get any time to talk to him but he should be around next week hopefully.

I need to calm down though and stop being so excited as I can't sleep!

I think my veil is a richard Design, it's due in next week. I ordered it the end of Feb.
