I suspect the answer is go to your GP (which I will) but could red scaly patches be due to a change of washing powder? I don't think they're itchy for her, they're mostly on her torso, possibly one in the crook of her elbow. Roundish but not definitely circular.

Is she likely to be infectious? I don't want to be a social pariah Weep

My H has something similar - it is excema.

However, he has also had ringworm and it isn't always round. I however have never caught it!

Could be change of powder. H's excema gets irritated by dust and running out of water softener tablets.

    Hth a teeeeeeeeny bit!.

you can get patches called something like uticara after a sore throat and there's something else called what sounds like 'psorasis rosecia' (spelling, spelling?? no idea and in too much of a hurry to check) both are harmless but will benefit from dermol or diprobase from GP.

(i suffer from both frequently, the rosecia are seasonal and normally confined to trunk).

    HTH.

bath time and vast pile of nappies to sluice awaits...sob.

Do you ever wonder why having multiples isn't a cure for broodiness?

Interesting. Jack has one of these, well sounds like it, on his collar bone. I just assumed it was a patch of his excema and have been treating it as. He has been under the weather and very temperaturey which I thought was teething. Be interested to hear what others have to say.

L's eczema take the form of red dry scaly patches on her body. She also gets it a bit in the crook of one elbow and one knee.

It could well be washing powder related - I'd get a GP to look at it.

definately sounds like eczema-WEES re getting a prescription for emolient and a moisturiser, or you can buy over the counter from the chemist if a prob getting a GP appoitment, the pharmacist will also be able to advise you which creams to buy. could be partly down to the washing powder if youve changed it recently.

Another angle: Zac got this sort of thing a few months ago. When I was home in NZ with him it cleared up (with hydrocortisone once broken skin had healed); within a few days of being home it returned. Not hard water as suspected, but H's stubble! H's vigorous raspberries on Zac's naked stomach was irritating the skin.Laugh Naked raspberries have been banned and itchy marks have gone.

when did she have her MMR?  Hannah reacted badly to her 2nd one (we're having 2 in our area due to high number of measles cases) and red scaly patches were one of the reactions.  She still has them now actually.  GP just gave her some antihistamine liquid and said it was good to have a reaction to the MMR to show it's working!!

Could of course be exzema / reaction to something.

Pityrisis or similar. If it's the recurring type, it's versicolour rather than the rocasea (sp?) type apparently. I get it every year in spring or when I'm really run down.

Jessica has something on the back of her legs that looks similar, but I think it's just dry skin.

She's having it next week so can definitely rule that out!

Ezcema does make sense. Will switch washing powder back (that'll teach me to go for offers Laugh) and take her to GP to check it over

They say pityriasis rosea is generally at age 10 plus but I saw it in a 3 year old today. It looks quite different form pityriasis versicolour. We need pictures. Did one patch appear first? Are they itchy? Has she been ill recently?
