Gothic wedding planning more than black and white

One Keighley woman's wedding planning is much more than black and white - despite those being the two colours that she is trying to balance on her big day.

Clare Sharpe is a goth, making the traditional white wedding a bit of a problem, Keighley News reports.

However, her wedding planning is finding ways to overcome this, allowing her to dress in the way she feels most comfortable without looking out of place at her own ceremony.

Make-up is no problem, as she always wears the white-out face common among goths.

But her dress has required a little more imagination as a vintage white frock was customised using netting and a spider pattern to add a gothic twist.

The plans are an interesting way to overcome the problem of having an all-out black wedding, which might have seemed more appropriate to many goths.

Brides planning a distinctive hairstyle were recently told to consider fishtail plaits, which can be done without the help of an expert.

Toni & Guy artistic director Indira Schauwecker explained that an intricate appearance can be achieved with fishtail plaits, which could add a unique touch to weddings without going as far as dressing as a goth for the day.
