Jennifer Ellison weds in secret ceremony

Former Brookside actress Jennifer Ellison and her semi-professional boxer beau Robbie Tickle have tied the knot in a secret wedding ceremony in Mauritius.

The pair, who are currently expecting their first baby together in January, had only two witnesses present at the ceremony, which took place overlooking the Indian Ocean.

Jennifer, 26, did not even tell her mum that she and Robbie had wedding planning on their mind when they set off on holiday.

She did, however, inform her dad beforehand because she did not want him to be upset about missing out on walking her down the aisle.

"My dad has always said he wanted to buy my wedding dress and I didn't want him to see the pictures and miss out on that opportunity, so I took him for lunch and told him," she explained to OK! magazine.

Jennifer once dated Liverpool football star Steve Gerrard, who is now married to Alex Curran with whom he has two children.
