Desperate Housewives' Mike and Susan finally wed

Mike Delfino, the fictitious plumber of Wysteria Lane in Desperate Housewives, is likely to have made countless viewers happy by tying the knot with Susan Mayer, played by Teri Hatcher.

Fans of the programme were left hanging at the end of season five when the show's hunk wed a mystery woman.

TV viewers have been guessing the bride's identity, with some speculating it was Susan and others suggesting Katherine Mayfair, played by Dana Delaney.

But, as the first episode of the sixth series aired in the US this week, fans were treated to Susan standing in her wedding dress next to sexy Mike.

The show's creator Marc Cherry explained that Susan had to be the bride to ensure viewers got their happy ending.
