Happy ending for bride and toyboy groom

A woman who married her son's best friend who is 30 years her junior has said she has never been so happy.

Mother-of-seven Marilyn Buttigieg fell for William Smith when her son introduced the pair three years ago.

William was just 16 at the time and she was 46, but that did not stop the pair falling in love.

After a year of keeping their relationship a secret, Marilyn finally told her children who were disgusted by the news - and one of them even called her a paedophile.

But, after the anger started to wear off, the west Sussex family finally thawed and wedding planning for their nuptials commenced. Marilyn's daughters even helped her pick out a wedding dress.

"I felt like a blushing young bride in my white dress," she told the Sun.

"Words can't describe how happy I am now."

It is becoming more and more common for women to marry younger men. Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher tied the knot in 2005 - the groom was 15 years the bride's junior.
