R&B couple to tie the knot?

American singer Ashanti and her rapper boyfriend Nelly look set to walk up the aisle, according to new showbiz reports.

In a recent interview with Us Weekly magazine, Ashanti, 28, hinted that wedding planning is on the horizon for the celebrity couple.

When asked about the chance of wedding invitations in the near future, the R&B starlet confirmed: "Absolutely. It's in the cards for me. I believe that I have a couple more things I need to do before that happens."

Joking about media speculation surrounding her private life, Ashanti added: "I should have had six or seven kids, been married three times and secretly engaged now. But none of it's true."

Ashanti and Nelly have been dating for four years, but prefer to keep their relationship out of the spotlight.

The 'princess of hip-hop' has featured in hit US films Coach Carter, Resident Evil: Extinction and John Tucker Must Die.
