High School Musical stars engaged?

Teen heartthrob Zac Efron has reportedly proposed to girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens, with a view of tying the knot next year, reports speculate.

According to the latest Hollywood gossip, the High School Musical co-stars got engaged on a trip to Japan last month after alleged wedding pressure from Vanessa's mum Gina.

A source close to the young stars told the National Enquirer: "Zac is relieved to be out of the pressure cooker, because Vanessa's mother has been putting serious heat on him to make an honest woman out of her daughter.

"She is old-school and doesn't approve of Vanessa living with Zac without some type of wedding promise … Gina already considers Zac a part of the family. So she's happy that he proposed."

It is rumoured that Zac, 21, has yet to give his 20-year-old bride-to-be a ring and details of their initial wedding planning remain unconfirmed.

The all-singing and dancing couple met on the set of the hit Disney movies and have been dating for the past three years.
