Bride gets to church early despite wedding car fire

A bride whose wedding car went up in flames still managed to get to her ceremony with five minutes to spare.
The 1964 Bentley began smoking outside 26-year-old Joanne Thompson's parents home, with the flames being put out by the fire brigade.
However, Joanne remained in buoyant spirits despite the tragic event, telling the Daily Record: "It was very traumatic and really scary but we've all had a laugh when looking back on it.
"People have been telling me that my wedding day would be so stressful and I was prepared for tantrums and problems.
"But I was left absolutely stunned by what happened. My dad is renowned for leaving early to go places and it was a good job he had us ready well in advance for the reception."
A replacement wedding car was sent out by the company who owned the Bentley.
Joanne and her husband Roy Cooper have now set off for a three-week
honeymoon to Sri Lanka.
