Singer reveals celebrity wedding shock

Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones has admitted that he was "stunned" to be chosen to perform at the celebrity wedding of the year, reports reveal.

The Welsh crooner was asked to sing at the highly-anticipated wedding of celebrity couple Wayne Rooney and Coleen McLaughlin held in Portifino in June this year.

Commenting on the gig, Kelly told the South Wales Echo: "I was stunned when I got the call to go play at Wayne Rooney's wedding.

"I knew he was a big fan and had been coming to our gigs for a long time and Coleen said she'd love to have us there to surprise him at the honeymoon party the day after their wedding."

The high-profile newlyweds flew Kelly and his band mate Adam Zindani by private jet to the star-studded Italian wedding venue.

According to reports covering the lavish nuptials, Coleen and Wayne were offered £2.5 million by OK! magazine for exclusive rights to the couple's wedding photography.
