Engagement on the cards for Justin Timberlake?

American heartthrob Justin Timberlake has reportedly bought a diamond engagement ring for long-term girlfriend, actress Jessica Biel earlier this week.

According to the latest celebrity rumours, the 27-year-old singer purchased a vintage engagement ring for the Hollywood beauty while on a recent trip in Italy, fuelling more rumours of possible wedding planning.

Sources from Rome-based jeweller Nicola Boncampagni claim that JT purchased a multi-carat diamond ring and bracelet for Jessica, 26, who he has been dating since last year.

"I could tell they had very refined taste because they asked about the history of all the jewellery," shop owner Nicola Boncompagni told People. According to the magazine, the couple appeared "shy but in love."

Justin previously dated Charlie's Angels star Cameron Diaz for four years before the couple ended their relationship in early 2007.

The singer turned actor is known for trying to keep his private life out of the media spotlight, despite dating fellow high profile A-list stars.
