Welcome one and all to my celebrity wedding blog. For those of you with no interest in famous fashionistas and their pre-nuptial plans, avert your eyes now, otherwise, you've come to the right place. Having worked in the fashion magazine industry for as long as I have and specialising in glamorous celebrity weddings - to which I have attended my fair share - juicy insider scoops are my raison d'etre. Believe me, I have seen some things that may inspire, shock and even terrify you to the very core so consider me your eyes and ears on all things glitzy, glamorous and wedding related.

Long-haul honeymoons top the list

Are long-haul destinations for honeymoons worth the hours - or even days - it can take to reach them?

I don't know about you, but at the wedding receptions I've been to neither the bride nor the groom ended the night in any condition to catch a long-haul flight.

But luxury holiday firm Kuoni has the Maldives, Thailand and Sri Lanka down as the top three long-haul destinations for honeymoons in 2010.  Sri Lanka and Thailand are also in the top five long-haul places to stage the wedding itself, although the Maldives is missing from that shortlist.

ABTA spokeswoman Frances Tuke argues that a holiday in the Maldives is a one-off and not a common occurrence - much like a honeymoon, hopefully.

She's not the only one who thinks the Maldives is the perfect place for a newly married couple to spend their first weeks together.

Actress and comedian Nina Wadia recently told the Telegraph that her honeymoon in the Maldives was her personal idea of travel heaven.

"I've yet to visit anywhere that matches that experience," she said.

Maybe it would be worth flying with a hangover after all, if the experience is so good.

What do you reckon?
